WHEN DO PORTFOLIO NIGHT TICKETS GO ON SALE?
Tickets are scheduled to go on sale on April 14th, 2015.
HOW DO I BUY A TICKET?
Visit the city page that you want to attend, and click on the "Buy Ticket" link. This will take you to that city’s online ticket purchasing system.
The city page will, near to the event date, tell you which Creative Directors will be reviewing portfolios in your city, where it will be happening, i.e. the address etc, and the schedule of the night, what time registration starts etc. Please read this information carefully before you purchase a ticket.
WHAT DOES MY TICKET GET ME?
Your Portfolio Night ticket will get you personal face time with at least three creative directors, the opportunity to replace the butterflies in your stomach with some food and beverages, and some lovely parting gifts in the form of a goodie bag.
Not to mention the chance to make a lot of new friends in a fun, inspiring environment, and to know that the same thing is happening that very same day to people much like yourself all over the planet. All in all, a pretty eventful evening!
CAN I PURCHASE A TICKET FOR SOMEONE ELSE? CAN SOMEONE PURCHASE A TICKET ON MY BEHALF?
Certainly, but the purchaser must be able to fill out all the appropriate info for the attendee. For instance, if your dad is buying your ticket, make sure he knows you’re a ‘copywriter’ and not ‘I dunno, some ad making kid.’
DO I GET AN ACTUAL PHYSICAL TICKET?
No. When you purchase a ticket, your information is added to that city’s attendee list, and you’ll receive an email confirmation of your purchase. Please print this confirmation off and bring it with you to Portfolio Night.
I BOUGHT A TICKET, BUT NOW I CAN’T COME. CAN I GET A REFUND?
You may receive a refund, but there will be a small processing fee of $5.00 USD involved. No refunds will be offered after Monday, May 19th, 2015. This of course also means no refunds after Portfolio Night has happened.
To request a refund, please follow the instructions on the Eventbrite website. You may also sell or give your ticket to a friend without incurring a processing fee. For instructions on how to do this, please visit this Eventbrite link.
I’M A FASHION DESIGNER. CAN I BUY A TICKET TO GET MY PORTFOLIO REVIEWED?
Advertising students, junior copywriters and art directors, interactive writers and art directors, as well as designers with portfolios strongly geared towards advertising are all welcome to attend Portfolio Night. Sorry photographers, illustrators, fine artists, industrial designers, non-advertising focused graphic designers, account services and media people and the like; we love you to bits, but Portfolio Night isn’t for you.
CAN I BUY A TICKET JUST TO ATTEND, NOT TO GET MY BOOK REVIEWED?
Sorry, no can do. Spaces are extremely limited and in high demand. To this end, we must reserve all slots for attendees participating in the portfolio review.
I’M PLANNING ON ATTENDING PORTFOLIO NIGHT WITH A PARTNER. DO WE NEED ONE OR TWO TICKETS?
In most cases you will both need to purchase a ticket. Some cities may allow one ticket per team; please see the appropriate city page to find out if your city is one of them. Keep in mind that if your city does allow teams to purchase a single ticket, you will still be slated to meet with the same number of creative directors as an individual ticket holder would.
Your best bet to get the most out of the evening? Have two copies of your book, and do the regular sessions as individuals. You’ll get to see more CDs that way, and for any meetings that went well, introduce those particular CDs to your partner during the overtime round!
CAN I BUY A TICKET AT THE DOOR?
In most cases, no. Some cities may make an exception, but will be very unlikely to be able to handle anything more than exact change cash. Please keep an eye on your city’s page in the days leading up to Portfolio Night to see if they’ll allow for at-the-door sales. If it isn’t mentioned on their page, the answer is no.
And obviously, if a city is listed as “SOLD OUT” there will be no tickets available at the door.
